About Us

About Friends of LCCS

Friends of Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) began in 1999 as a project sponsored by the Junior League of Toledo. In 2002, we became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of enhancing the lives of children and families served by Lucas County Children Services.

Consisting entirely of volunteers, Friends of LCCS fulfills its work by raising funds and recruiting volunteers to help sponsor and provide enrichment activities and experiences. Our supported initiatives include the LCCS holiday gift drive and party, high school graduation and adoption ceremonies, summer caregiver picnics, a school supplies backpack drive, and a safe community-wide Trunk-or-Treat event in central Toledo.

Friends of LCCS also serves to uplift foster parents and relative caregivers by showing them appreciation and providing them opportunities to interact with and gain support from each other.
